Pietro “Pete” Gandolfo — “Petey” to those who loved him — was born in Sicily in 1929, won the Tour of Sicily as a young cyclist, and became one of America’s leading builders in Detroit before creating the LaNotte restaurant and nightclub in South Florida. At 80 he became a model and actor. He passed away at home in Boca Raton on May 13, 2026, two days before his 97th birthday.
